Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church
Makes History
:::Houston, Texas:::
“The Building Committee of Mt.
Pilgrim Baptist Church selected Century Builders for many reasons.
Century was honest in their presentation, and provided guidance and
maintained a high level of communication throughout the entire
process. The Committee felt that Century possessed the size, skills,
and execution plan that offered the best opportunity to control
construction costs and pass on savings to Mt. Pilgrim.
“It was the Building
Committee’s preference to utilize Century’s Design/ Build Service as
opposed to an architect and separate general contractor type
arrangement. Facts and references pointed to the conclusion that
design/builders are better able to control the cost of the project
from start to finish. Most of the architects did not appear very
concerned about construction cost control or accountability for the
project.”

Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist
Church has a long and successful history of ministry in the Heights
area of Houston, Texas. Founded in November of 1925, the church
continues to grow and is “alive and well” according to Pastor G. T.
Curry, Sr.
In March of 2003, Century Builders
completed construction of a new 12,500 sq. ft. Education Building
that ties in to the present church facility. The brick and EFIS
exterior was designed to blend with the traditional style of original
structure. “Building in this historic area with the long existing city
infrastructure, presented some unique challenges, stated Jeff Balette,
Project Manager. “But it was a real pleasure to work with the great
people of Mt. Pilgrim.”
Features of the new
Education Building include classrooms, nursery facilities, offices and
a youth assembly space. The Dedication Service will be celebrated on
March 30, 2003 and Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church will continue
making history.
