On May 1, 1975, Century Builders opened for business in a small rented office with three employees. In the early years, the main focus of the business was building for Houston's booming oil, petrochemical and related industries. With the blessings of God and the stable leadership of President and Founder, Darrell Eggleston, Century quickly grew in size and reputation, Century had established itself as one of the top low-rise construction firm in Texas by the early 1980's.

Toward the end of the 1980's Houston's economy suffered the fallout from the nation's oil shortage and gas crisis. Many firms in Houston did not survive this economic downturn. By the grace of God and sound fiscal management, Century emerged from the oil crisis with a new diversity and direction. In the fall of 1987, Lakewood Church, led by the late Dr. John Osteen, selected Century Builders to construct an 8,200-seat auditorium, the largest ever built in Houston. Since then, Century has become the premier church designer and church builder in America.

OUR PRESENT EXPERTISE 

Over the years, Century has developed an exceptional team of church construction professionals. The Church Design Team includes award-winning architects, engineers and interior designers. They are experts in creating a plan that will capture the unique personality of each congregation. Century's Sales Team is comprised of "people professionals" who have worked with numerous church leaders to coordinate the desires of the members within the available resources. Experienced Project Managers and Superintendents make up a Construction Team that oversees every detail.

Century's greatest competitive edge is experience in church design and construction. Century specializes in church facilities only, each with unique and beautiful elements. The diversity of projects includes: auditoriums with seating capacities of 300 to 8,200; architectural styles ranging from contemporary to traditional; special facilities including gymnasiums, classrooms, kitchens and fellowship halls; and special function spaces with theatrical lighting and audio/video systems for television ministries.

       Every Sunday morning, more than 300,000 people worship in a church facility designed and constructed by Century Builders.
